Mount Elgon Trekking – 4 Days
Depending on the time of arrival at Entebbe international airport, you may have to stay for a night in Entebbe, Kampala, Jinja or Mbale.
Day One:
Meet the group at their accommodation in the morning at around 5:00 am… set off for Mt Elgon safari a stretch of about 135km from Jinja,255km from Entebbe,215km from kampala and approximately 20 km from Mbale town. Take Eastern Uganda Iganga -Tororo road through sugarcane/ rice plantations en route via Tirinyi to Mbale town where you will have breakfast. Continue the
journey with prolific views of the cascading hills of the Eastern to Mt Elgon visitor center (Budadiri) we will then get some briefing by the guides in preparation for hiking. We will then , set off from Budadiri with the guide and porters through the Sipi trail Bamboo plantations to the Sipi falls on the foot hills of the mountain where you will be able to appreciate the beauty of nature that Uganda has. At one point, you will have a chance to view Sipi falls from the top.as the sun sets, you will pinch your own tents prepare your dinner and overnight at Kapkwai.
Day Two
you will have morning breakfast then resume the hike on the slopes of the mountain. The trek is extremely exciting and rewarding with the help of guides while following the Kapkwata trail through the forest, you will have a chance to see a variety of birds and plant species like Lobelia with in the forest making it a good experience for forest finders. Heath and moorland gets you to the Piswa camp at 2,850 meters where you can have a late lunch and relax in the evening, dinner and overnight at Kapkwata in your tent(s).
Day Three
After breakfast in the morning, you will continue uphill to the verge of calderas through beautiful columns of Lobelias Elgonensis 
that runs all the way up to the hot springs and suam gorge. before descending to the hunters cave camp at 3,850m. En route is rewarded with different bird species thus enabling the activity of bird watching to take place.as you take pictures, you will then have a lunch break at Suam site. After Lunch ascend to the top of calderas to the Mountain peak Wagagai at 4,321 M While at the peak, you will have an over view of mountain elgons’ slopes and the surrounding towns, it is a wonderful experience worthy re-adventure ring. You will then descend through Jackson summit to Jackson pool up to Mude camp where you have lunch and an overnight.
Day Four
After a heavy breakfast in the morning, descend through Sasa trail enroot to Mbale town where the group can be picked by a vehicle ready to set off to Tororo town heading to Jinja/ Kampala/Entebbe as you will have a lot of stories to tell of the mighty Falls.
